The panel discussion aims to bring together experts, thought leaders, and stakeholders from various backgrounds to discuss the importance of storytelling in conservation and how to use storytelling to mobilize action. The panel discussion will cover a range of topics, including: the art of storytelling, storytelling for social impact, engaging diverse audiences, leveraging digital platforms, and collaborative storytelling.

Brian Cimagala (Senior Producer at Film 45)
Brian Cimagala is a Senior Producer at Film45, working closely with the Bezos Earth Fund to tell important, character-driven stories to support their work in fighting climate and protecting nature. A voracious consumer of stories for as long as he can remember, Brian has enjoyed working as a professional storyteller for nearly 20 years.
Starting his career as a production assistant at the History Channel, Brian spent his early years crafting long form content for broadcast, then later streaming; eventually adding short form content for social and digital platforms to his repertoire.
As a producer/director of non-fiction and documentary content, he has worked on a wide range of projects, including international travel series, CGI-heavy specials, and verité-driven sports documentaries. He’s had the privilege of spending nearly two years documenting the rebuilding of New York City’s World Trade Center, and has filmed on all seven continents, with work taking him to the top of Tower One, the Antarctic ice shelf, and Point Nemo (the pole of inaccessibility).
More recently, Brian has focused on stories about science and climate, and hopes his work can help create lasting, transformative change.
Sue Chin (Senior Vice President of Strategy and Advancement and Chief Architect for the Wildlife Conservation Society)
Sue Chin is the Senior Vice President of Strategy and Advancement and Chief Architect for the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS.) Sue is a licensed New York State Architect and has been with WCS since 1982. She heads a multidisciplinary department responsible for exhibit design, interpretation, graphic design, architecture, landscape design and construction management at the Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo, Queens Zoo, New York Aquarium and select global sites.
An important aspect of her work is creating ways to connect people with animals and nature and inspiring advocacy for wildlife conservation. Sue has been an integral part of the design for numerous award-winning Bronx Zoo projects including Congo, Tiger Mountain, the Center for Global Conservation and the Lion House Madagascar! exhibit.
At the New York Aquarium, Sue headed an extensive design and construction effort for Ocean Wonders: Sharks, a major new building and exhibit which was recognized in 2019 for Excellence in Exhibit Design by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA.) Most recently she led the completion of a master plan for the Bronx Zoo and is working with the team to design the new animal exhibit experiences.
Sue has collaborated on WCS global conservation projects in Uganda and Kenya aimed at connecting increasingly urban communities to their native wildlife. Her work in Central and South America included architecture and exhibit design for an interpretive center in Costa Rica and the design of a marine research facility in Belize. Other completed global projects include the design and construction of an interpretive center at Nyungwe National Park, Rwanda and an education campus and visitor’s center in Madagascar.
Sue is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA,) a member of the American Association of Museums (AAM,) and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA.) Sue is currently the Chair of the AZA Honors and Awards Committee and also serves on the AZA Nominating Committee. Sue has over thirty years of experience in zoo and aquarium exhibit design, architecture and construction management.
